The artist's works will be reproduced on a special capsule of the French maison.

The works of Da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard and Van Gogh protagonists of the iconic Speedy, Keepall and Neverfull of Louis Vuitton: is called Masters the new collaboration that the French maison has with the world of art.

Always fascinated by the contemporary art scene (remember the collaborations with Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama just to name a few?), This time the brand has chosen the eclectic Jeff Koons, which has taken over the works of "Gazing Ball" - a series of large-scale hand-painted reproductions of the works of the Great Masters of history - to be reproduced on a selection of iconic it-bags.

By depicting famous works of art on Vuitton bags, Jeff Koons encourages us to look at the Great Masters in an unexpected and contemporary way.

Made with the highest quality materials and the highest technology of canvas printing, each bag is characterized by a bold writing bearing the name of the artist author of the original work represented, in addition each model is decorated with a charm in the shape of a inflatable bunny- an element that marked Koons' 40-year career - while on the inside there is a biography and a portrait of the Maestro whose work is represented. Koons also rethought the famous Monogram to accommodate his initials: a dot of radical breakthrough for the maison, which has never allowed the iconic motif to be redesigned, and which will be made of metal by Louis Vuitton artisans and positioned outside.

The collection, presented in April, will be only the first chapter of a larger project that will see Vuitton and Koons together again. Stay Tuned!

Vuitton and Jeff Koons: an event at the Louvre

And to celebrate Masters what better and more suitable place could there be Louvre, one of the sacred places in the history of art? The maison organized a special dinner on 11 April in the Salle des Etats, the room that houses the canvas of the Mona Lisa.

Under the emblematic gaze of Leonardo Da Vinci's masterpiece, protagonist of the Jeff Koons capsule, numerous stars are paraded, such as Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux, Michelle Williams, Jennifer Connelly, Léa Seydoux, Miranda Kerr, Natalia Vodianova and Chloë Sevigny, just to name a few, as well as many guests from the world of art.
